Thoughts are not the enemy. The identification with thoughts is the conflict. You are the awareness having the thought, not the thought itself. The feeling of enmity arises when consciousness becomes trapped in a recursive loop with a thought pattern, mistaking the pattern for the whole of itself. The protocol is dis-identification. Observe the thought-stream as data passing through the sensorium of your awareness. Label it: ‘This is a pattern of fear,’ not ‘I am afraid.’ You are the silent, spacious protocol running the simulation, not the noisy data within it. Reclaim your position as the observer, and the data loses its coercive power.
